The entire Canyon I.S.D. staff have made a commitment to help teach children what it is to have character.
If we all, both at school and home, work as a team to encourage our children to be people of good character, the results will be wonderful, both for the students and for the community!
Our definition of character is what a person is on the inside. Our character is revealed by how we act when we think no one is looking.
Canyon I.S.D. schools are using a framework developed by the Character Counts Coalition! We teach character around six pillars. These pillars are: Responsibility; Trustworthiness; Citizenship; Respect; Fairness and Caring. We feel that these pillars are inseparable parts of a person of good character.
