Attendance Policy and Procedures
Texas Law: Section 25.092 of the Texas Education Code states that a student must be in class for at least 90% of the days a class is offered to receive credit or a final grade for that class. 18 total absences falls below 90% of the school days.
Reporting Absences:
- You will need to call the attendance line, or enter the absence in Skyward before 10:00 a.m. Our attendance line number is 806-677-2514.
- Calling the school or entering absences in Skyward does not guarantee that the absences will be excused.
- If absence is not reported to the school within 3 days of the absence, the absence will be considered unexcused.

Pre-Approved Absences Form
If you know that your child will be absent, a Pre-Approved Absence Form may be filled out 3 days prior to the absence. The form will be reviewed by the campus principal and considered for approval to excuse up to 3 days of absences.
What is considered Excused/Unexcused Absences?

- Student Illness
- Medical Appointment with a doctors’ note
- Death of Immediate Family Member (Parents, Grandparents, Siblings)
- Religious Holiday
- Weather Related
- Approved absences (up to 3 days from Pre-Approved Absence Form)

- Family trips/Vacations*
- Family Related*
- Attendance at non-school sponsored events*
- Funeral Attendance for anyone other than immediate family*
- Attending siblings or parents medical appointment*
- Unknown reason for absence
